Beyond the Crown: Growth, Recognition & New Opportunities at Educated Black Queen
Celebrating a Voyage Jacksonville feature, introducing new opportunities for entrepreneurs and creatives, and highlighting conversations that inspire us to create our own lane.
Growth doesn't always look the way we imagined. Sometimes it looks like taking a chance on an idea, sharing your story with the world, or creating opportunities for others along the way.
Since launching in 2020, Educated Black Queen has continued to evolve from a lifestyle blog into a platform centered on storytelling, wellness, creativity, and empowerment. What started as a space to encourage women to recognize their worth has grown to include a podcast, a poetry collection, a resource directory, an online shop, and opportunities for creatives and entrepreneurs to share their work.
This October, we're celebrating a few exciting developments that reflect that continued growth.
A Moment of Recognition: Featured in Voyage Jacksonville Magazine
It's always special when the work you put into something receives recognition, especially when the journey behind it has been years in the making.
On October 7, 2026, I had the pleasure of being featured in Voyage Jacksonville Magazine in an interview titled Meet Destiny Harris of Jacksonville, FL. The feature provided an opportunity to reflect on the journey behind Educated Black Queen, the experiences that shaped its mission, and how the platform has grown over the years.
In the interview, I shared how my background in multimedia journalism, nonprofit work, and mental health advocacy influenced my approach to storytelling and community building. I also reflected on the challenges of entrepreneurship, learning the business side of building a brand, and finding ways to bring multiple passions together without losing sight of the original purpose.
One thing remains true: Educated Black Queen is about more than a title or a platform. It's about encouraging people to continue learning, growing, embracing their identities, and recognizing that they don't have to become someone else to be worthy.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to share that message with a wider audience.

Creating Your Own Lane: A Conversation with Whitney White
The Educated Black Queen Podcast continues to create space for honest conversations about personal growth, wellness, entrepreneurship, and the experiences that shape who we become.
Our October 2 episode featured Whitney White, founder and director of Riot Act Productions, for a conversation titled:
Creating Your Own Lane: Whitney White on Entrepreneurship, Storytelling & Independent Media
During our conversation, Whitney shared her journey from developing campaigns for others to returning to her passion for visual storytelling and building a creative company of her own.
We explored entrepreneurship, creative ownership, marketing, independent media, and the importance of letting go of perfectionism. Whitney also opened up about mental health and the lessons that come with pursuing a vision of your own.
Her story is a reminder that creating your own lane isn't always easy, but sometimes the most meaningful work begins when you give yourself permission to pursue what you truly want to build.
Whitney is also raising support for her crowdfunding campaign, 40 Days to Riot, which concluded October 24.

As the platform grows, so does the opportunity to collaborate with individuals and businesses who share a passion for creativity, community, and meaningful work.
